How to Give Your Home a Makeover on a Budget

Giving your home a new look can be incredibly expensive, and most of us can’t afford to do it very often. But if you follow these tips, you’ll be able to give your home a makeover on a shoestring budget.

Living Room

In the living room, it’s often the small things that make the biggest difference to the overall look of the room. You can make the room feel more alive by adding flowers and plants to the room, this’ll also help oxygenate the room. Add small details to the curtains and surfaces. And if you want to go for something more substantial, find an interesting second-hand coffee table to act as the centrepiece.

If the room’s colour palette needs a change, go for something simple and neutral. Simple colours are cheap to buy, so giving the room a fresh coat of paint is a very inexpensive way to give the room a new look.

Bathroom

Bathroom suites are expensive and most of us can only afford to replace them once in a blue moon. It’s not ideal, but that’s the way it is. So, what you can do to make updates to the bathroom without ripping the whole suite out and replacing it? Don’t worry, there are plenty of options open to you.

You might not be able to replace the whole bathroom suite, but you can replace the faucets easily enough. These are the parts of the bathroom that age most quickly and go out of date. You should also think about buying a new mirror. They can make the space look bigger and draw your attention to them if the frame is stylish.

Bedroom

In the bedroom, the bed should be your main focus. The best beds manage to combine great appearances and comfort. The first thing you need to do is get the basics right, so buy a new mattress from John Ryan Contemporary. A new mattress will make your sleep much more comfortable and support your back properly.

Then you can make some more fun changes. Add new cushions and throws to the bed. These look great when the bed is made, and can make it a bit more comfortable to lie in at night. What’s not to like about that?

Kitchen

Inexpensive vintage accessories look great in the kitchen and, if you look in the right places, you can find unique items that no one else has. Searching through antique shops, charity shops and garage sales are all great ways to find items. There’s also online auction sites for you to search through at home.

One of the biggest problems a lot of kitchens face is an overabundance of wood. This can make a kitchen look very dated and rather dull. If you want to change it but can’t afford to install new cabinets and drawers, you should paint them. The new colour will give the whole room a new and fresh feel.

Hopefully, you now realise that you don’t need to break the bank to give your home a new look!
