Choose a Shot of Colour to Emphasise the Kitchen

Choose a shot of bold colour to emphasise the kitchen, and use it in any way you wish. You could choose bright tiles to create a fancy oven splash back, paint one wall as a feature wall, or even paint your cabinets a nice bright colour and then sand them to make them look timeworn! Why not choose your favourite colour in a variety of shades to use on the walls, on the furniture, and accessories? You’ll get a designer look for half the price, just add contrasting accessories such as animal print pillows!

Go Minimalist

If you’re sick of junk all over your kitchen, invest in lots of storage space to get the minimalist look. Different shades of sleek grey look great with this look!

Be ‘All White’

Having white walls, white countertops, and white kitchen furniture can look great and give a lovely calm appearance to a kitchen. Choose a lovely tiled floor to contrast the look perfectly (just remember to stock up on lots of cleaning products if you like to cook – white can get messy!).

Go Retro

Nothing looks cooler than a retro kitchen with splashes of red and sunshine yellow. Pick timeworn tables and chairs, floral curtains, and vintage metal signs on the walls to complete the look! If you do enough research, you should be able to find some really vintage looking appliances, and kooky accessories look great too.

Make a Small Kitchen Look Bigger

To make a small kitchen look bigger, stick to neutral colours as these will open up the space. White, beige, cream, grey, and brown all look lovely on the walls, floors, countertops, and in furniture. Have billowing, see-through curtains too, as this will make sure lots of natural light floods the room.

Black on Black

Black makes a very bold statement, and is perfect for a larger kitchen. The look is very modern, and can be complimented perfectly with appliances like those from Alexanders Direct. Choose chrome hardware, appliances, and accessories for a really futuristic vibe.

Pretty in Pink

If you’re a bit of a girly girl (or guy), then a pretty pink kitchen is perfect for baking cakes and pies in. Have a pink feature wall, paired with pink curtains, and even a pink refrigerator if you dare! Don’t be scared to pick different shades of pink either. You can then add white accessories and maybe even a multi coloured rug for a great effect.

Are you inspired yet? You should be! These ideas are sure to give you the gorgeous kitchen you’re after.
